Saturday Oct, 5
After spending all the time on the airplane trying to amputate Riccardo’s arm from how tight I held it scared by the violent turbulence that made the plane jump continuously, finally we landed in Osaka!
Immediately after we left our luggage in the apartments, we joined for dinner the Stake.Fish team in a tiny restaurant in Namba.
Thanks Andrea, Dasom and Jk for the warm welcome, the great food and the chats about Cosmos.
There couldn’t have been a better way to start our trip to Japan!
Sunday Oct, 6
We’ve spent the day getting lost in Namba: sometimes voluntarily, looking for glimpses unknown to tourists, but many others not.
As Riccardo says, it was like being in Narnia.
Everything was new, colorful and intense. Osaka is the first city I have ever visited in which modernity blends perfectly with tradition in a magical union. Among our incredible discoveries were stalls with delicious street-food (takoyaki were exceptional), coffee with cheescakes so soft they melted in your mouth, the Pokémon centre (where I wanted to buy the whole shop) and the Namco Tower, where I played Final Fantasy Dissidia Arcade, coming to the conclusion that if I lived in Japan I would be covered by debts due to how many things I like to do here.
Other beautiful things happened that day: the arrival of Jake, Tony and Dogemos, who shared the apartment with Riccardo during all our stay, and the night out in Namba.
As had already happened to me in Seoul I often found myself during night time walking through the streets with my red headphones as a Linus’ blanket, accompanied by my favorite songs and sometimes also by old friends I had the luck to met again in Osaka.
Monday Oct, 7
DeFi WTF! One of the coolest free entry event I’ve been to so far.
Super happy to have seen Jake and Sunny’s panel, but even more happy to have seen Jeeuk again after all these months.
It’s mainly thanks to his kindness that “Interview with the Nerd” was born and I can’t thank him enough for that.
We had lunch with some Cosmos friends and after that we head back to the DeFi WTF event.
Once it finished, we first had dinner together with the Everett Team eating a delicious okonomyaki and then we joined the guys from Nonce (Wanseob Lim, Daniel Jee and many others) to double the food intake without any shame.
Tuesday Oct, 8
First day of Devcon V! It was my first event of such importance and I must admit that I was so excited that I didn’t know where to turn.
As soon as we entered I stopped to ask for information to the volunteers who were attending at the Devcon: thanks to that I was finally able met Takuya (who with me is part of the international translation team of Today in Cosmos), how a fortunate coincidence!
After the opening ceremony and various talks, following Dogemos suggestion, I set off in search of an installation called “Elsewhere”.
Given my known bad sense of direction, although the organizers had provided maps and directions to reach “Elsewhere”, I took a few hours to get there, involving many unfortunate people in the search. Kudos to the organizers: very sweet, ready to welcome and involve every person who came through the door.
Excellent the Matcha tea that they prepared for me while I was waiting for the arrival of Riccardo to try together to solve the puzzles that the guys had designed with such skill.
The experience of the game itself was incredible: the scenery was studied in every detail.
I also threw myself among stacks of fake banknotes and newspapers hunting Kong Dollars, limited edition NFTs hidden in Elsewhere.
KriptoOsaka Time!
In the evening Riccardo and I went together with the Everett Team and Dogemos to the great event organized by Erica Kang who had as speaker among others Christopher Goes.
Many members of the Tendermint team were present at the panel and we were lucky enough to meet them.
Obviously, as always happens to me, I was not able to smash a word xD
To close the day in the best possible way: Riccardo ate sushi for the first time ever! Yay!!!!
Wednesday Oct, 9
We woke up early to finish organizing the final details of the Cosmos Community Event that would have taken place in the afternoon and then we head to Devcon!
Interesting the talks of Jk (Lessons from other PoS networks) and Wanseob (#MimbleWimble), documented by us on twitter.
And then…
What an incredible experience.
Seeing so many friends getting together and talking about their plans for the future is really priceless, as well as attending a panel where JK, Ryan, Kwun, Jeeuk, Riccardo, Haifeng and Dogemos seemed to enjoy the moment as if they were simply sitting in their own armchair at home. Seeing this really warmed my heart. It’s really crazy how in so few months we had the good luck to meet such talented and incredible people. I feel really lucky. But we’ll talk more about the Cosmos Community Event in a specific blog containing photos and videos.
Thanks again Stake.fish for providing us with a professional operator, we really appreciated the spirit of cooperation that you guys have shown us from the beginning.
Party time! Cosmocean!
Most of you know how much I and parties are two disconnected galaxies, but being there with many friends has made me realize that the secret is not in where you are but rather in the people who are with you. Great food, music and entertainment. The location had a spectacular view of Osaka Bay. Also the beautiful T-shirt with the Cosmic Wales: it was a real pleasure to take the first team photo of the Cosmos Guardian with that on. What can I say? A galactic party :)
To close on a high note:
Walking towards a meeting I had the pleasure of talking to Tess and sharing a piece of the road with her. Really a nice way to end a day so full of emotions.

Another very intense day!
First I’ve been to Jessy’s talk about Incident Response in a Decentralized World, and then to the Universal Chain Registry Meetup organized with Pedro, Antoine, Simon and Riccardo.
I’ll be honest. Since this last project is still in its beginning and hasn’t been much advertised by us, I didn’t really think there would be much participation and willingness to contribute on the part of those who came to the meeting. But actually, I was totally wrong. So many contributors has come! This gives us all a great motivation to persevere in working hard, so thank again to all those who actively participated in the meetup. I hope to see you all again next time!
After a great lunch with Antoine and a short stop at Elsewhere with Dogemos, Riccardo and I set out to watch the launch of IOV’s Starname.
Really a party for everyone present, it was a pleasure to be there in first person to witness such an event.
After a little stop at the Binance X Dev Meetup, just in time to say hello to some people I met in Seoul at the BUIDL Asia, we went to the closing party at Elsewhere. I was really sad to have to say goodbye to the guys: Elsewhere was my Safe Zone during the whole Devcon V. The entertainment at the party was really worthy of the installation they had created, which was incredible.
Incredible as much as my poor resistance to alcohol. Coff coff.

Community Interoperability Panel by Jae Kwon and talks by Sunny and Cristopher Goes!
Lunch and then well-deserved relaxation for all, before heading to the Big Fatty Tuna Roof Party organized by Node Tokyo, where thanks to a friend of ours Riccardo and I had the opportunity to eat delicious tuna sashimi and meet fantastic people like Amanda Cavaleri, Ophelia Cai and Richard Ma.
Worthy conclusion of this day: another walk through Namba xD

Souvenir hunt!
How can you go home without buying postcards and socks made in Osaka? In fact, we, heedless of the incoming typhoon, have spent all morning looking for the perfect gifts for our friends who could not come with us. But then we also rewarded ourselves with a cuddle: 1 hour spent at the doge/neko cafe doing entire photo shoots and playing with dogs and cats.
In the afternoon we attended together with Ryan and Dogemos at The Cross-App Communication Panel that had among its speakers Cristopher Goes.
Last dinner in Osaka with the company of Yudai Suzuki, who was really a fantastic host taking us to eat traditional food in a decidedly non-tourist place and advising us on the best was on the menu. All accompanied by a nice chat about Cosmos and the universe of the PoS.

Time to leave T.T
I really wanted to have much more time to visit Japan, but I’m sure that my desire to experience it will take me back to the land of the rising sun.
To greatly improve my morale, which was really under the heels, the donation to the Cosmos Guardian by Forbole.
Knowing that the participants in the Cosmos Community Event had a good time fills me with joy. Because in the end this is the epicenter of our entire adventure:
Being able to created a moment of sharing and confrontation between friends.
