Keplr: the Interchain Wallet
the Story so Far & Updates from the Chainapsis Team
One of the main obstacles that separate the blockchain from a real mass adoption has always been the medium-high level of technical knowledge necessary to fully understand the actions that are accomplished on-chain. Much progress has been made over the past few years, in pursuit of bringing more and more people closer to this world and thus making this new technology an inclusive commodity accessible to the whole of us.
Although this goal has not yet been fully achieved, thanks to Chainapsis’ team today we can proudly say that we have made a huge step in this direction.
Introduction to Keplr Wallet
Keplr Extension is the first browser extension wallet available in the Cosmos Ecosystem.
It is also open-source and supports the CosmosJS signing library created by Chainapsis’ Co-Founder Tony Yun, a two-time HackAtom winner and author of Interchain Standards 27.
The other Founder, Josh Lee is a well-recognized member of the Cosmos community, mostly known as dogemos.
In addition to taking care of Chainapsis, he works at Tendermint.
From Keplr’s introductory blog:
“The ultimate goal for Keplr Extension is to recreate the simplicity of using MetaMask on Ethereum on Cosmos.
We’d like users to experience being able to access all Cosmos dApps using just one wallet on Cosmos.
We hope to overcome the UX challenges that are inherent to the sovereign blockchains ecosystem at the user application level.”
During the Game of Zones competition, Keplr has distinguished itself for being able to perform interchain transactions and it has supported stakefish’s Tamagotchi, winner of the “Most Creative Zone” award.
After this important collaboration, the Chainapsis team has made major partnerships in order to offer the highest stability and quality of service to its users. We can identify the Cosmos’ Keplr node, maintained by Figment, Kava’s one by Forbole and Secret Network’s one by Enigma: each of these infrastructures is considered an excellence in its field and offer security and reliability.
The current version of Keplr Wallet supports
⭐️ Cosmos Network ($ATOM)
⭐️ Kava ($KAVA)
⭐️ Secret Network ($SCRT - $sSCRT)
⭐️ Cyber Euler-6 ($EUL)
⭐️ Straightedge ($STR)
⭐️ Akash Network ($AKT)
⭐️ Starname ($IOV)
⭐️ Certik ($CTK)
Now we know where all started, but how Keplr managed to become a point of reference for the Cosmonauts as one of the two favorite wallets of the Cosmos ecosystem community?
Let’s go through the most important milestones together!
Keplr Wallet Integrates Torus’ One-Click Login
We all know that the storage of the seed phase or private keys has always been one of the things that most frightens users from all over the world.
But this big deterrent is about to be overcome in Cosmos Network today!
In the process of becoming as user-friendly as possible, Keplr has integrated its Browser Extension with One-Click login by Torus Lab!
Torus Labs, a non-custodial key management tool, inherits traditional account recovery systems that allow users to recover their account via Google.
Keplr once again becomes a pioneer in adoption and provides the first decentralized wallet with access recovery available in the Cosmos ecosystem, marking a milestone for the entire community!

Conclusion
Since the beginning, when I first met Tony and Josh, what impressed me the most was the determination to contribute to the development of Cosmos Network, which is visible today thanks to the many projects in which the Chainapsis team is involved.
This has always gone hand in hand with the creation of tools to encourage the adoption of the blockchain even to those whose technical skills are limited as if any goal is not worth enough if not shared by all, showing particular sensitivity and a sense of community.
I can’t wait to find out what they will do in the future!
Because Cosmos is full of stars, but you have to use the right lens to be able to admire them at their best.
